The next morning, everyone carried heavy gold bricks to the castle still under construction.
The village Jin had built stood atop a mountain. Everyone was stunned by the grand structure before them. They had always heard Jin say that the village was under construction, and had assumed it would be like Konoha. Only last night had Jin told them that the village was a castle. The castle walls were lined with crenellations, with tall watchtowers at each corner. It commanded the high ground and was easy to defend but difficult to attack. A deep trench lay before the gates, spanned by a drawbridge.
"We're here! Everyone, go inside and rest first. While you're at it, hand the gold bricks over to our chief financial officer, Meiko. Rest and regroup for a week, then I'll assign you new missions. Kimimaro, arrange the security here. We've got so much gold here—if word gets out, someone might come to rob us," Jin ordered.
"We should stay by your side. If you get into a conflict with the people of Konoha, we can protect you and get you out safely," Red Rose said.
"Don't worry. I'm a Konoha ninja now. I know what you mean, but this will be my home from now on. Help me watch over it. I'm heading back to Konoha first." With that, Jin turned invisible and left.
"Damn it! That damned invisibility!" Red Rose said helplessly and angrily.
"Don't forget, you can turn invisible too," White Rose said.
"Big Sis! I mean his invisibility!" Red Rose explained.
White Rose thought, Do you think I don't know? This girl must have fallen for that brat. Jin rushed back to Konoha so urgently—what happened? When will he be back?
