Uchiha Xin walked quietly along the road home, passing through the Uchiha Clan's settlement. The once-prosperous streets had become desolate and run-down, yet even so, those Uchiha students who had once learned under him still stood by the roadside, warmly greeting him.
"Teacher Xin, you're back!" A voice broke the surrounding silence. Uchiha Xin looked up to see a young Uchiha clansman walking toward him with a smile.
"Yes, I'm back." Uchiha Xin smiled in reply, warmth rising in his heart. Though these students were still young, they had all been disciples he had carefully taught at the ninja academy. Many of them had already become the backbone of Konoha.
"Teacher Xin, you must be careful. War is everywhere now, and Lord Naruto has been busy dealing with the village's affairs," a girl said worriedly.
Uchiha Xin nodded, understanding their concern. The smoke of the Second Shinobi World War had already blanketed the entire Land of Fire. Though Konoha was powerful, it could not avoid being caught up in it. He had to adapt to this chaotic era as quickly as possible and find a way to revive the Uchiha Clan.
"Don't worry. I'll protect myself." Uchiha Xin smiled to reassure them. "You need to be careful too. Don't let the war affect your studies."
The students all nodded. They knew that Uchiha Xin had always been a teacher they could rely on. Although his clan was fighting on the front lines and many Uchiha clansmen had suffered misfortune, he had never stopped caring for his clansmen and students.
As the night deepened, Uchiha Xin finally returned home. He pushed open the door and stepped inside, where a familiar yet unfamiliar scent washed over him. This was where he had grown up, and what his heart would forever cling to.
