"Bang... crackle, crackle..."

The sound of something massive scraping past the bottom of the ship came from beneath the aircraft carrier, making the entire vessel shudder violently.

What was that!?

Clark's eyes widened as a terrible possibility suddenly crossed his mind.

The electromagnetic pulse from the nuclear blast at the center of the Wormhole Waters dozens of kilometers away, combined with the tsunami raised by that otherworldly beast, had destroyed the entire undersea sonar detection network. For the moment, humanity had lost all ability to detect what was happening beneath the sea.

The warships had only just restarted their systems. They were all blind right now, unable to see what was below them.

"Tentacles, Commander Clark. It should be one of the sections of tentacle that was blown off earlier and drifted over here..." the captain beside him said quickly. "That beast has been completely destroyed. Our Eagle Country Navy has saved the world once again. You can rest easy."

The aircraft carrier had stopped shaking, and the tremendous noise had faded away. All that remained on the surface was the raging swell left behind by the beast.

Clark could not help but smile faintly. "I was a little tense. We're dozens of kilometers from the spatial wormhole, tens of thousands of meters away. Even that otherworldly beast couldn't possibly reach us from here, not to mention that it's already dead."

"Exactly, sir. We can hold a celebration. Although we detonated a nuclear bomb inside that monster not far away, it wasn't a dirty bomb like a three-phase bomb. Besides, the monster absorbed most of the blast. The radiation detectors aboard the ship haven't registered the slightest response, so we don't need to worry about radiation contamination. This is practically the best possible outcome," the captain said with a smile.
