A Southern Kingdom Demon King tried to escape after using poisonous mist to probe the group, but Wangquan Baye and the others trapped him to protect the townspeople. Ye Qingcang dispelled the poison’s effects, and the cornered Demon King unleashed a blinding attack.

  • The Demon King identified Chi Huo as a Human Race fire cultivator and Shi Tang as a sword cultivator, then decided to withdraw toward the Southern Kingdom.
  • Wangquan Baye, Li Zizai, and Li Qizhuo blocked the Demon King’s escape, while he threatened the poisoned townspeople to make them stand down.
  • Ye Qingcang summoned rain that dispelled the poison’s effects and roused the townspeople.
  • The Demon King realized he was outnumbered and tore off his clothes, revealing hundreds or thousands of eyes that released blinding white light.

Wangquan Baye and the others resisted the Southern Kingdom Demon King’s blinding attack, but he seized nearby civilians and tried to escape. Ye Qingcang dragged him back, and the Demon King used the hostages to force Wangquan Baye to negotiate.

  • The Demon King’s Thousand-Eye White Light blinded the civilians and affected Wangquan Baye, Li Qizhuo, Li Zizai, Chi Huo, Shi Tang, and Ximen Chuisha, while Ye Qingcang remained unharmed.
  • The Demon King recognized the strength of Wangquan Baye and the others, swept up the civilians, and fled toward the Southern Kingdom.
  • Ye Qingcang grabbed the fleeing Demon King through the air and smashed him into the ground.

Ye Qingcang captured the Southern Kingdom Demon King after refusing to be swayed by his hostage threat, then agreed to let Wangquan Baye question him about the disappearances near the Southern Kingdom border. The Demon King remained alive and in their custody as Wangquan Baye thanked Ye Qingcang for allowing the interrogation.

  • Wangquan Baye hesitated over whether to risk the hostages or attack the Demon King, while Ye Qingcang rejected the Demon King's attempt to use the villagers as leverage.
  • The Demon King tried to turn the villagers against Ye Qingcang, but Ye Qingcang challenged him to release them and accused him of using them because he was afraid to die.
  • Ye Qingcang appeared behind the Demon King, shattered his protective barrier, knocked him unconscious, and sealed his demon power.
  • Ye Qingcang cured the poisoned villagers and agreed to let Wangquan Baye question the captive about the people who had disappeared near the Southern Kingdom border.

Ch. 728Count Me In?

After the battle, Ye Qingcang reflected on how capturing a Demon King helped the Human Race but left the border town bearing the costs of the fighting. When Li Zizai said the group planned to travel to the Southern Kingdom to free captured humans, Ye Qingcang asked to join them.

  • Ye Qingcang watched townspeople clean up the rain-soaked aftermath and considered the Human Race's shortage of long-lived top experts.
  • Ye Qingcang noted that the town's residents would bear the costs of the battle, including poisoned demon corpses, damaged homes, and ruined roads.
  • Li Zizai brought Ye Qingcang the interrogation record and said the group planned to go to the Southern Kingdom.
