Horst turned to Ron and the others, extending a finger and drawing a circle between them.
"You lot, come over to my side. I won't hold your actions against you, and you can each take a few things from the treasury."
Quinto was the first to respond. He tucked his lockpicks into the leather pouch at his waist and walked behind Horst. Ron tilted his head and glanced at Geralt.
Geralt shrugged. The two stepped forward at the same time and came to stand beside Horst. As he walked, Ron said,
"I told you I don't like people trying to be clever. You probably didn't take my words to heart."
Eveline looked around. Only she and Ewald remained on her side. Opposite them stood Horst, two guards, Ron, Geralt, and Quinto. Her gaze lingered on Ron for a moment before turning to Ewald.
"You can't blame me for breaking the contract. Standing with you is practically waiting to die." With that, she walked over and stopped beside Geralt.
Horst laughed, his voice echoing through the underground hall. "Ha, you really are still the same worthless fool. Now everyone around you has turned against you. What are you going to do, my dear brother? Still, for the sake of our blood relation, I can give you one chance. Kneel and beg for my forgiveness."
Ewald's face turned extremely ugly. His gaze swept over Horst's guards and Ron's group one by one. Every single one stood against him. He walked up to Horst and fell to both knees.
"I was wrong. Please spare my life."
Horst looked down at Ewald, the corner of his mouth slowly curling upward. "Oh, of course. Since my dear brother is begging me so sincerely..."
