Background / History

Ling Luochan is the daughter of Ling An and Shui Wuyue and the older sister of Ling Tianchen. When Tianchen fell into an unexplained six-month coma, she took nearly half a year away from Shrek Academy, researched possible treatments, and remained at his bedside. She was the first family member to notice his finger move before he regained consciousness. 1

After Tianchen awakened his Ice Phoenix martial soul, Luochan was driven from the awakening basement by the extreme cold but struggled to remain near him. She continued caring for him through his recovery, including preparing his favorite food. 4 5

During the family’s trip into the Far North, she witnessed Tianchen effortlessly freeze a seven-hundred-year Ice Swift Bird. At the time, she was a Rank 34 Soul Elder and privately worried that her newly awakened brother would soon be stronger than her. 6

Luochan later attempted a martial soul fusion with Tianchen. Their soul powers could not merge because Tianchen’s Genesis Ice Phoenix bloodline suppressed and rejected her ice attribute. Tianchen instead infused her with pure ice origin, raising the quality of her ice element and laying the foundation for a possible future Ultimate Ice attribute. 10 11

Her affection for Tianchen develops beyond ordinary sibling attachment. After a psychological game reveals that he subconsciously thinks of her first, she recognizes that they are “running toward each other” but chooses to remain by his side as his sister for longer rather than immediately reveal everything. 34 35

Luochan is possessive and easily jealous where Tianchen is concerned.
