Background / History

Er Ming was the king of the Star Dou Great Forest and the younger brother of the Sky Azure Bull Python, Da Ming. While Qian Renxue and Snake Spear Douluo sought a soul ring in the forest, he forced them apart and pursued Snake Spear Douluo into the mixed zone. 1 2

While attacking Snake Spear Douluo, Qian Renxue, and Ning Yao, Er Ming was struck by Ning Yao's Abundance power. Growths erupted from his injuries and rapidly consumed his body, collapsing him in agony. Da Ming arrived, retrieved him, and withdrew rather than challenge Ning Yao. Ning Yao stated that Er Ming would not die, but later concluded that the ape's inability to bear the power could turn him into a Mara-Struck walking corpse. 2 3 4

Over time, the Abundance power instead drove Er Ming into continual mutation. His strength rose beyond Da Ming's, but each increase triggered uncontrollable berserk behavior. Unable to restrain him any longer, Da Ming sealed him beneath a lake in the Star Dou Great Forest's core area with Er Ming's consent. 49

Ning Yao later returned to investigate him and had Withered Wood release him. Er Ming emerged in a heavily mutated state and immediately attacked Withered Wood, only to be overwhelmingly defeated. When Ning Yao intervened, Er Ming regained awareness and reacted with terror upon recognizing the one responsible for his torment. Ning Yao then offered him a chance to escape his condition, though the explanation was interrupted by Tang San's group entering the area. 49 51 52

Er Ming was originally a colossal ape-like soul beast, with fists covered in cracked, stone-like skin. After prolonged exposure to Abundance, his body became grotesquely altered. 1 2 49
