Shrek Academy maintains a declared neutral stance in disputes between nations, viewing direct involvement in such conflicts as contrary to its founding purpose. Its leadership nevertheless recognizes that its decisions can affect the wider political landscape of the Douluo Continent. The Sea God Pavilion convenes annual meetings attended by its elders, and its resolutions are described as capable of shaping the continent's future. 20 44

The academy presents itself as irreconcilably opposed to evil soul masters. Its Inner Court students undertake elimination missions through the Shrek Supervisory Group; Zhang Lexuan led one such expedition against evil soul masters operating near the Star Luo–Sun Moon border, under Sea God Pavilion elder Xuanzi's supervision. 6 22 46

After Zhang Lexuan disappeared in the Sun Moon Empire, the academy tasked Dai Yueheng and Ma Xiaotao with both hunting evil soul masters there and secretly locating her. The operation produced further incidents: Dai Yueheng was captured after publicly threatening the Sun Moon Empire, while Ma Xiaotao infiltrated Prince Yan's Palace in an attempt to rescue him. 22 24 30 34

Mu En later confronted the Sun Moon Empire after attempting to bring Xu Tianming to Shrek Academy by force. The resulting standoff nearly escalated into open conflict, but Mu En ultimately negotiated Xu Tianming's enrollment through compensation, guarantees of safety and freedom, and access to cultivation resources. 40 41 46

Upon Xu Tianming's arrival in Shrek City, Yan Shaozhe used Soul Power pressure against him at the East Gate. Mu En punished Yan Shaozhe by removing him as Dean of the Shrek Martial Soul Academy, demoting him to vice dean, and directing his salary toward compensation. Sea God Pavilion

The Sea God Pavilion is an elder body whose annual meetings require attendance from its elders unless urgent circumstances prevent it. Its decisions are portrayed as highly influential across the continent. 20
