Inside the Spatial Passage, Snow Empress looked curiously at Xia Liang. For a Soul Beast to possess intelligence, didn't it have to be at least a hundred thousand years old? Why, then, had these Immortal Herb Spirits gained intelligence so quickly?
Take Xiang Shisan, for example. Her strength had only reached the Soul King level, yet she possessed intelligence. That defied all common sense.

"Yes. The Little Elf inherently possesses considerable intelligence, but the power within the Ice and Fire Continent suppresses it, preventing it from developing consciousness."
Xia Liang continued, tying the explanation to the conditions on the Ice and Fire Continent.
Generally speaking, monsters possessed no intelligence at all, with Heavenly Lords being the exception. Immortal herbs, however, were foreign objects, unaffected by the Ice and Fire Continent, so they could possess intelligence too-but they still needed to be old enough.
Yet through some strange coincidence, the vast amount of ownerless intelligence within a Little Elf had fused with a wisp of independent intelligence in
