At the very beginning, the Demon Empress had not believed in any True Creator.

She had lived too long and seen too many so-called faiths, too many beings bestowing the name of "god" upon things they could not understand.

When people were weak, they worshipped the strong.

When they were ignorant, they worshipped the unknown.

When death approached, they were willing to believe in anything.

So at first, the concept of the True Creator had not seemed particularly special to the Demon Empress.

But those fragmented memories from other times and spaces, from before the destruction of one era after another, had changed her.

Especially the Demon Era.

Those terrifying beings, mad and chaotic, devouring one another.

Many of their auras were not something even the Demon Empress, who had now broken through the hundredth level, dared take lightly.

Some were as immense as true ancient demon gods. With a lift of their hands, they could transform vast stretches of heaven and earth; a casual action could cause disasters beyond the comprehension of ordinary beings.

If those memories were real, then even today, some of those beings would have been enough to shake the entire continent.

But what had become of them?

They had vanished all the same, been destroyed all the same.

One era ended, another came, and then that one ended too.

Nine times.

Nine whole times.

Mighty civilizations, terrifying beings, gods worshipped by countless living creatures-in the end, none seemed to have truly escaped that fate.

It was under the repeated onslaught of those memories that her fear of that so-called "True Creator" had grown ever deeper.

And when that fear reached its extreme, it gave birth to an utterly absurd hope.
