Background

Tang Wulin is the son of Tang San and Xiao Wu, as well as the grandson of Tang Hao and A Yin. Though he outwardly appears to be a low-talent Blue Silver Grass Soul Master and forging apprentice, his body initially contains the sealed bloodline of the Golden Dragon King. Eighteen seals bind that power; failure to break them would mean death. 15 34

For three years before arriving in Eastsea City, Tang San's divine consciousness resided in his sea of consciousness under the name “Old Tang.” The consciousness taught him forging methods, helped him attain third-level blacksmith certification and one-ring cultivation, and manipulated a soul-spirit draw so he received a hundred-year Datura Snake. Tang Wulin regards Old Tang as his master and life guide. 34

After graduating from Red Mountain Academy, Tang Wulin enters Eastsea Academy. First Encounters with Jiang Yan

Tang Wulin first approaches Jiang Yan and Na'er in an attempt to befriend them, but Jiang Yan rebuffs him. Jiang Yan's aura and bloodline suppress Tang Wulin, immediately establishing the imbalance between them. 15

When Tang Wulin arrives in Eastsea City three years later, Jiang Yan and Gu Yuena recognize the sealed Golden Dragon King aura within him. They begin investigating him and decide that the bloodline should be reclaimed. 34

Eastsea Academy and Zero Class

Tang Wulin's first day at Eastsea Academy ends with his demotion to Class Five and a large fine after he beats Zhou Changxi during a dormitory conflict. 36 Bai Xiaobai later selects him as a Class Five tournament representative, seeing drive and promise beneath his weak martial soul. 44

His third-level blacksmith qualification earns him an opening in Zero Class. Most classmates and teachers question the decision, but Tang Wulin treats it as an opportunity to prove himself. 60 63

In the Beginner Spirit Ascension Platform, Tang Wulin aims to raise his first soul ring to the thousand-year level but is defeated by a 250-year Amethyst Bear after two and a half minutes. He earns no Soul Spirit age increase. 67

Attempt to Take Jiang Yan's Bloodline

Influenced by Tang San, Tang Wulin begins viewing Jiang Yan's bloodline as the solution to his weak martial soul and low innate soul power. Though initially uncomfortable with taking power from another person, he agrees to approach Jiang Yan alone. 62 72

Tang San possesses Tang Wulin during their meeting and attempts to seize Jiang Yan's bloodline. Jiang Yan reveals that he knows Tang San's identity and has Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong waiting as protectors. 73

Loss of the Golden Dragon King Bloodline

Qian Renxue destroys Tang San's divine consciousness with a single strike. Jiang Yan, Qian Renxue, and Bibi Dong then enter Tang Wulin's spiritual world and remove the Golden Dragon King bloodline. 74

Tang Wulin collapses unconscious and is left behind. Without the bloodline's reinforcement and after the damage caused by Tang San's possession, his remaining potential is assessed as insufficient even to reach Soul Elder. 74 75
