The young Scourers asked around, only to discover that no one could explain where the news had come from.
But no one gave it much thought. They crowded around Cassius Thorne and the others again, petitioning them.
"Let us do it! Magic is real to begin with, so why should we help those evil wizards hide it?"
"The world needs another Witch Hunt! This time, it has to be a complete cleansing!"
Just as the crowd grew increasingly noisy, a cold voice suddenly barked, "Enough!"
In an instant, all the clamor was suppressed.
Everyone turned toward the voice and saw a striking, capable-looking woman approaching. She moved with the agility of a cheetah, her gaze sharp, each stride of her long legs covering twice the distance of anyone else's.
The excited boys and girls all lowered their heads and obediently called out, "Teacher Abigail!"
Sera Abigail swept her gaze over them, disappointment in her eyes.
"Real action doesn't rely on loud voices. It relies on discipline and brains! You know perfectly well this is someone else's scheme, yet you stupidly pinned the blame on the organization and stepped straight into the mud. You still think that's a good thing?"
...Was... was it a bad thing?
The young people, whose blood had been boiling just moments ago, looked at one another. None dared raise their heads to meet her eyes, much less speak.
"What are you still standing around for?" Abigail snapped. "Making such a racket, are you trying to force the Leader into making a decision? I'd say you're terrified the Aurors won't be able to find our base. Get back to your posts!"
Under Abigail's stern gaze, they were like mice under a cat's stare. Once they were permitted to leave, they immediately scattered in all directions.
