Liu Chun and Li Xiuwen finished their bout.
The training ground fell briefly silent.
Disbelieving gazes froze in midair.
"One move? One move? One move?!" A Zhen rubbed her eyes to make sure she had seen correctly.
"How... how is that possible?" Big Silly Qiang was stunned too. "Didn't Brother A Wen need more than a dozen moves against those Purple Membrane disciples just now?"
Old Chen had figured it out. Stroking his beard, he smiled. "Simple. A Wen feigned weakness to make Liu Chun lower her guard, then finished her with a single strike in the ring."
Liu Chun stood dazed at the edge of the platform, unable to recover for a long while. Feeling those gazes on her, she flushed scarlet.
He's reached Black Membrane too, and he reached it ages ago. He just kept it from everyone.
That presence of his, his qi and blood, were even stronger than mine... I don't understand. Even if he ate one fish ball a week, he shouldn't have been able to catch up with me.
Liu Chun kept replaying the fight in her mind.
Settling the match in one move meant his strength utterly eclipsed hers, just as Longlegs Seven's had back then.
Li Xiuwen hadn't won through luck, nor had Liu Chun performed below her usual standard.
Huang Sihai rose and looked at Li Xiuwen, his expression unreadable.
"Do you think there's any need to continue?" he asked.
Everyone shook their heads. Continue, their asses.
Liu Chun, the strongest of them all, who could steamroll everyone else, had been steamrolled by A Wen.
Even everyone on the First Floor together wouldn't be enough to take A Wen on.
Huang Sihai smiled. "I hereby declare the winner of this Grand Tournament: Li Xiuwen!"
Everyone cheered and gathered around Li Xiuwen.
