Well, the real world really was more realistic.
Hoshino looked down. The believers were still lined up, and nobody paid much attention to the two figures standing in the street. They stood one behind the other, with Saria raising both arms as if to bring them crashing down, but still holding back.
This was the reality of the moment.
When Saria's heavy punch landed, the ground at the Shrine would split open, the cracks spreading beneath Muelsyse's feet. Then, with a rumble, Muelsyse would be blasted into the air and land on Saria's shoulder.
If it had been her real body, Muelsyse would have been badly hurt if caught off guard.
But it was Muelsyse, after all. Saria wasn't too worried.
Besides, Saria was doing this entirely of her own accord. Her exposed wrists hadn't turned pale with Calcification, but a Vouivre's physical strength was more than enough to give the Shrine's floor a hard time.
Even if Saria woke up now, she couldn't stop herself from launching one hell of an attack.
Muelsyse was in danger.
But after thinking it over, Hoshino realized that a simple betrayal by a colleague probably wouldn't be enough to stir up Muelsyse's desperate will to survive.
What should she do?
There were always more problems than solutions, but Hoshino had another idea.
A battle of magic.
If Muelsyse watched a magical duel and felt firsthand how insignificant she was, the pressure would drive her to flee with all her might. Then the plan would be halfway accomplished.
The curtain had barely fallen before rising again, as if this were all just a game.
Hoshino had indeed been having a great time this time around. She hadn't expected to forget about completing the mission right at the end.
It was all because the reward
