"Martial law! Martial law!"
The problem of the undead spread rapidly throughout Ursus, and Lungmen happened to lie within Ursus's borders as well.
Lungmen had originally been a chunk of flesh that Great Yan had bitten viciously out of Ursus. It had once been an achievement that made the city-state's leader, Wei Yenwu, proud, but now it had become no small trouble.

A vast sea of undead stretched out beneath her. Flaming arrows shot toward her, and Ch'en ducked, letting them brush past her blue-green hair. Her blade flashed coldly, and the arrow split in two with a sharp ring.
"The dead?"
She had received a report from the research institute. These things were undoubtedly corpses, yet they could move, wield scythes, and fire arrows. With their numbers so immense, they had become Lungmen's greatest problem.
"The Ursus people say this is the wrath of the Infected buried in this land over the past thousand years."
"Will they reflect on themselves?"
Ch'en found that explanation somewhat unconvincing, especially coming from the Ursus. Their eyes were always fixed on the sky; they would never look for fault in themselves.
"That's what they're saying, anyway. In just a few days, organizations advocating for Infected rights have sprung up like mushrooms after rain."
Swire stood beside her and spoke dismissively.
"I just think that a behemoth that oppressed others for centuries can't simply get up, dust itself off, and
