Far away in Lungmen, Oute looked at the branch in his hand, which no longer resembled a table leg, then at the piece of Originium Prime on the table. I do have a few questions about Originium.
"I understand."
Kal'tsit nodded and rose from her chair, only to sit back down halfway through.
Her expression did not change.
Yet sensing the embarrassment coming from the other end of their mental link, Oute tactlessly asked, "What's wrong?"
"Get lost."
Cold air swept across damp fabric, carrying a faint sting.
Lungmen, slums, Rhodes Island fortified outpost.
"Hm?" Specter glanced out the window and murmured, "My lord, someone's here. And... they're strong."
Using her eyes, Oute looked over. A van bearing the Penguin Logistics logo on its side was driving toward the outpost's backyard.
"They're friends we hired with a friendship fee," Oute said encouragingly. "But Specter, you did very well. If anyone else approaches, make sure to tell me too."
"Mm!" The nun interlaced her fingers and answered Oute in a prayerful pose.
Oute gently stroked Specter's long silver-white hair, somehow feeling like a creepy old man luring children away.
Whether it was the nun personality or Laurentina, she needed to become independent as soon as possible... Such a beautiful body, such a simple personality... Every time, guilt and desire surged up together.
It wasn't quite to the point of being mentally disabled, but making a move on someone with such a young mental age was still somewhat...
Oute stood up. He had intended to head downstairs directly, but after hesitating for a moment, he tucked the Originium Prime into his pocket.
Before he had even reached the bottom of the stairs, he heard an incredibly energetic voice. "Seriously? Aren't you a medical company!? This place is practically a fortress!"
