It goes premium at 10:30 tomorrow morning.
I was still pretty nervous before going premium, so I wanted to find someone to chat with.
Counting from last October, this was the second time I'd written one of these going-premium messages.
I wasn't exactly a complete newbie author anymore, was I?
But unlike before, this whole book was so much better than my previous one.
You know, my old book's total views hadn't even surpassed its word count... I had no idea how I managed to keep going.
Being able to go premium with over ten thousand followers was a brand-new experience for me as well.
Of course, I knew that whether it was my writing or anything else, I was still far behind the other big-name authors. Reaching this point was thanks to Arknights' popularity and the readers' support.
So the first thing I had to do was give thanks.
Thank you, Sister Nanxi. Thank you to every reader who read this book. Thank you for the comments and reviews, the favorites, recommendation tickets, monthly tickets, and tips.
Emmmmmm, and I should thank Mr. Hypergryph too... though I hoped Mr. Hypergryph, who only knew how to make empty promises, drip-feed content, and throw in NTR, wouldn't stab me in the back.
Next, let's talk about this book and myself.
Just as I'd said before, I started preparing to write this book back in January.
That was a little earlier than I'd expected.
I'd mentioned before that I originally planned to start writing a year later. By then, I would have been abroad, with more free time, and I could have used writing to ease the loneliness in my heart.
But I moved that plan forward. I spent a month where I would be studying abroad during the summer break, and after learning about the cost of living, I wanted to save up some living expenses first. That was how this book came about.
I wanted to write a story about a boy saving the world with a smile—a conclusion where "nothing is lost, everyone smiles, and everyone can return home safely."
Of course, Bai Ye wasn't some saint. He had his own bottom line, so everyone could rest assured on that point.
This was a story I loved very much. Though it was still immature, I would see it through properly.
Well, I knew posting this afterword would immediately lose me some favorites, and I had no idea how many subscriptions I'd get tomorrow.
But I wouldn't fish for sympathy.
To borrow something Qiuming-chan once said: "We live in the best of times, an era where as long as we work hard, we can easily survive. So there's really nothing worth complaining about."
I loved that line.
I would cherish beyond measure the things I obtained through hard work.
Failing to write well and still forcing others to stick around was a truly shitty thing to do.
I loved this story, and I loved all of you who loved this story. So I would tell this story to the end.
Now, let's talk about updates...
Only after reading the comments did I realize that going premium meant posting five chapters... Yet when my first book went premium, I only wrote two chapters...
Alright, I'd post five chapters tomorrow... Though I'd never posted more than two chapters in a day before...
Maybe this would be a rare experience...
Last but not least, thank you to the Bilibili uploader "Ghost Beside Lady Yuyuko" for their article analyzing Operators from a psychological perspective, and thank you to them for granting permission.
Oh, right. I just saw someone ask in the comments:
"Didn't Exusiai disguise herself as a Lupo so she could get close to Texas ԅ(¯ㅂ¯ԅ)? Or am I remembering wrong -_-||"
I found the answer in my previous notes about Exusiai on Weibo:
"She was once a fairly well-known idol under a famous music distribution company. Her energetic personality and the Lupo's iconic pointed ears won her a large number of fans..."
So Exusiai had already been disguising herself before she joined Penguin Logistics...
Everyone, don't forget the original setting just because of Exusiai and Texas's bond~
Ah, right, you could totally use Shiina Aki as a reference for the male lead's appearance. Isn't he a very cute boy?
What else was there to say?
Emmmm, it seemed there was nothing else.
Then, I hoped you could continue walking this road with me.
Thank you.
Thank you
Before you continue
