"Is she asleep?"

Texas walked over to Bai Ye's side and looked at Ceobe, who was lying across Bai Ye's lap.

"Yeah. She got sleepy after reading for a while and dropped off before long. Even when the book hit her in the face, she didn't wake up."

Amused, Bai Ye reached out and pinched the silly dog's ear. She showed no reaction at all in her sleep, merely shifting slightly to find a more comfortable position.

Texas found the sleeping Ceobe amusing as well. She walked over to the sofa and sat down on Bai Ye's other side.

Texas felt nothing in particular about Ceobe lying on Bai Ye's lap. In both their eyes, the girl was simply a child.

Still, Texas stared at Ceobe in a daze.

"What are you thinking about?" As he spoke, Bai Ye discreetly reached out and caught Texas's tail in his hand.

The fluffy feel made Bai Ye unable to resist giving it a squeeze. A rare blush appeared on Texas's face, and a misty sheen seemed to veil her eyes.

Suppressing an unusual sensation, the girl answered softly, "I was thinking that this little girl is a little like you when we first met."

"Huh? I'm a lot like her?"
