Kal'tsit has lived for at least two centuries and appears almost unchanged across that time. Patriot recognizes her from a distant past and is disturbed that she has not aged, addressing her by the old title “Lady Lord.” 562 789

More than twenty years before the present story, she was involved with the Sarcophagus research project in Ursus. Ilya, Ludmila's father, helped initiate the Sarcophagus lockdown to keep its powerful machinery from being weaponized by Ursus; Kal'tsit later expresses regret that she could not save him. 367 742

Three years before the main Chernobog operation, Kal'tsit brought the gravely wounded Doctor to the Sarcophagus, whose functions include physiological restoration. She later entered it with the Doctor and shut it down completely. 742 767
