Coulson's tone was unusually stern. Skye hesitated for a moment before returning to the communications van. She chose to trust Coulson. After weathering so many storms, she was no longer the inexperienced rookie she had once been.

Skye asked, "What kind of attack was it? How did it happen without a sound?"

Simmons fiddled with the instruments. "It was a purely mental energy, like the pressure exerted by a higher predator upon a lower one in the food chain, so..."

"So what?"

"So, in essence, they were scared unconscious..."

Skye: ...Was this a joke? Those field agents had faced guns and bullets, yet they had actually been scared unconscious.

"Wait. Those little thugs who came into contact with the target also mentioned something like killing intent."

The moment Skye heard that, she had assumed the thugs were talking nonsense. She hadn't expected it to be true.
