A short-haired girl blocked Hayato's path.
"Blocked" wasn't quite right. She was merely standing in the path he had to take, hands in her pockets, light purple eyes behind her headphones hanging around her neck. She chewed bubble gum and occasionally blew bubbles.
"Hello." The girl spoke in Chinese. "I'm Li Qianhuan."
Her Mandarin was fairly standard. She was only a second-generation immigrant, not a complete banana.
"Hello, I'm Hayato." Hayato said, "What do you need? Don't tell me Madam Gao hired you?"
Li Qianhuan had little presence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Hayato only remembered her because she was a Chinese mutant.
"How could that be!" Li Qianhuan denied it with wide eyes. "Don't compare me to those scumbags. Besides, you should be thanking me. Otherwise, those Triad bastards wouldn't have let you in so easily. But I used to run with people in Los Angeles. I only have this much pull here, so watch yourself."
"They should be thanking you instead." Hayato said with a smile. "You still haven't told me what you want. If you don't, I have business to attend to."
Li Qianhuan sighed. "Why are you so boring? I only heard about you from Black Spider and Colossus. You killed Elijah. Black Spider thinks highly of you, but Colossus complained that you had the chance to capture Elijah alive, so why did you kill him outright? I honestly didn't know what to say. He's such a huge guy, yet he's as kind as a rabbit. A scumbag like Elijah wouldn't deserve mercy even if he died ten thousand times. If it were me, I definitely wouldn't have held back either. But don't say that to Professor X, or he'll lecture you until your ears callus over."
"How did you know I was coming to Chinatown?"
