As soon as the five minutes were up, more than half the people nearby dispersed. Not everyone was afraid of Hayato, though. Many superheroes stayed behind to help.
Hayato had no interest in playing villain for no reason, so he pretended not to see them.
Face had another quality: when you decided it did not matter, it did not matter.
"Feels like I forgot something... What was it?"
It was not until Hayato spotted a hunched figure that he suddenly remembered. In a flash, he appeared in front of her.
"Madam Gao, where are you going?" Hayato said with a smile. "I nearly forgot about you. Never thought I'd have a day when my memory failed me. Anyway, we still haven't settled our score. How should we settle it?"
Madam Gao still leaned on that cane, but she could barely stand. Her face was full of panic, like a startled bird.
The moment she saw Hayato, she collapsed onto the ground in fright.
"Money, I have money." Madam Gao tremblingly pulled an antique key from her pocket. "All my assets are stored here. If you let me go, they're all yours. The Hand is gone, the Dragon Bones are gone, and this old bag of bones does not have much longer to live. Have some pity on me and let me go."
"Sure." Hayato smiled and reached for the key.
Madam Gao offered it up with both hands.
The instant Hayato took the key, he tilted his head. A red beam skimmed past his ear and shot into the sky.
Madam Gao had deliberately offered the key with both hands to lower Hayato's guard. Meanwhile, she had planted her cane in the ground, and the cane's head fired a laser beam.
