Gamora charged into the temple, but Hayato did not follow.
There was no need.
Ego's control over his own energy was somewhat lacking. He needed time to "revive."
If he needed time, then they would give it to him.
Hayato asked Mantis, "Mantis, what are you planning to do?"
Mantis shook her head in confusion. "I don't know either."
She did not agree with Ego's actions, but one fact could not be changed: Ego had saved her life when she was still a larva.

Even if she had been saved only to become a tool, Mantis did not want to act against Ego.

Star-Lord froze for a moment, thinking he had wandered onto the wrong set.
They had not encountered much danger inside, but what was with these people's leisurely, post-meal-stroll vibe?
He could not help looking back.
Pale blue light tentacles were stretching out from the temple.
Confirmed. It was still the same set.
So... Star-Lord said, "Yo my ass! Run! If we don't run now—" Hayato raised a hand, then pressed it downward.
Star-Lord felt an overwhelming pressure descend from above.
He raised his head and saw a gigantic transparent palm coming down from the sky.
Star-Lord opened his mouth, thinking, It's over. Then he looked at Gamora with tender affection.
The gigantic palm slammed down, barely grazing Star-Lord. The gust it kicked up left him a complete mess, his hair thoroughly ruined.
Gamora said with disgust, "Hey, what are you looking at? That look in your eyes is so gross~"
