Tsunade asked directly, "What are you leaving the village for at a time like this? Akatsuki just caused a huge mess, and every village is on edge. Don't go stirring up trouble, okay?"
"I haven't caused trouble in years. You're clearly wronging me." Hayato waved a hand. "Forget it, forget it. Let's just call it the price of being too handsome."
Tsunade had the urge to hit someone.
A wise man knew when to yield. After reading the room, Hayato hurriedly turned serious. "It's personal business, related to yesterday's ninjutsu. There's nothing much to explain."
"Going alone?"
"Yes. I have Space Ninjutsu. If I need anything, I can just go 'pew' and come back to the village for a nap during lunch. Having more people along would only make things inconvenient."
"Do whatever you want. Anyway, I can't think of anyone in the Shinobi World who could keep you now."
"You flatter me, you flatter me. Though you are stating the truth."
Tsunade said, "Enough. Let's talk business."
"Isn't this business?"
Smack!
Tsunade finally slammed the table. Shizune's head popped in from outside the door, her laser-like eyes sweeping over the two of them. The meaning was clear: if you two smash another table to pieces, I'll smash you two to pieces.
Several tables had already been sacrificed this month.
What had the tables ever done wrong?
Did the office budget have a grudge against you two?
Tsunade coughed twice, awkward but still dignified.
They still had to give Miss Shizune some face. Hayato sat up straight, pretending Tsunade's anger had nothing to do with his provoking her.
Once Shizune left, Tsunade whispered, "Third stage of premarital jitters, manic phase. And Yamato is injured too. Don't provoke her. The consequences will be serious."
"Aren't we supposed to be talking business?"
