Chūnin Exams

After adjusting his mood slightly, Chen Tian watched Tsunade return to normal, then pushed the door open and walked in without ceremony.

What was there to be polite about? The people inside included his big brother!

"Xiaotian, you're back? Kushina has missed you to death!"

When Minato saw Chen Tian appear, a brilliant smile spread across his face.

The next moment, that smile turned to surprise as he stared blankly at the two people behind Chen Tian.

Tsunade! One of the Legendary Sannin, Tsunade! She had actually returned!

"Lady Tsunade, you've returned!"

There were still seventeen years until the Fourth Shinobi World War. All he needed to do was improve his strength over those seventeen years.

In the blink of an eye, a week had passed. After the war ended, all the major nations were recuperating.

Yet Konoha had developed so tremendously during this time!

Such a thing simply could not be hidden, so Minato, Jiraiya, Tsunade, and the others decided to hold a Chūnin Exam a month later.

They would invite all five major ninja villages and show off in front of them, making them think twice before setting their sights on Konoha again.

Some people initially stepped forward in opposition, but with Tsunade and Jiraiya backing it and Hiruzen Sarutobi relinquishing power, the two advisors had been sent off to farm.

As for Shimura Danzō, because he had placed a bounty on Chen Tian, he was officially stripped of his authority and reduced to an ordinary civilian.

If he had not been the Second Hokage's disciple, Minato and Kushina would have killed him long ago.

How dare you touch my brother? Who gave you the nerve?

But none of that had anything to do with Chen Tian. All he knew was that Minato had actually told him to participate in the Chūnin Exams today!

Looking at the Elite Jōnin evaluation in the system, Chen Tian did not know whether to laugh or cry.

Wasn't this asking him to beat up children?

Did they really think every Chūnin Exam would be like Naruto's? With two jinchūriki running around the forest and an Kage-level Orochimaru biting people everywhere?

But under Minato's forceful suppression, Chen Tian could only obey the order helplessly.

Over the next twenty-odd days, Chen Tian familiarized himself with Konoha's latest situation once more.

With five days remaining until the Chūnin Exams, Chen Tian deliberately went to Konoha's gates.

The ninjas from the other villages would be arriving soon. He wanted to see their expressions when they saw Konoha.

It was sure to be quite entertaining.

The first to arrive was the Sand Village. One jōnin came with three genin, and Chen Tian was very familiar with that jōnin. It was none other than Baki.

But he had no idea who the three genin were. They had not appeared in the original story either, so they were probably just nameless extras.

When these people saw Konoha as it was now, their eyes nearly popped out. They even thought they had taken the wrong road and prepared to turn back the way they came.

If not for the gate guard duo stopping them, Baki would have taken the three genin and left.

Chen Tian did not pay much attention to those three genin. He only knew that they looked around fourteen or fifteen years old.

After the Sand Village came the Stone Village. The visitor was Ōnoki's son, Kitsuchi, also an Elite Jōnin.

That burly man actually gave Chen Tian a faint sense of danger, making him take a few extra looks.

The Stone Village was far more generous than the Sand Village, sending a full nine genin to take the exam.

Their expressions upon seeing Konoha were much the same as those from the Sand Village.

After that, only ninjas from small villages arrived. The Mist Village was already under Obito's control and had no time to come.

Rather than attend some Chūnin Exam, they might as well slaughter a few more bloodline clans in their own village.

There was even less need to mention the Cloud Village. With the Fourth Raikage's temper, how could he casually come to Konoha?

They had not even come to Konoha to discuss war reparations yet, much less attend the Chūnin Exams.

After seeing the expressions of the Sand Village and Stone Village visitors, Chen Tian went back to rest on his own.

That rest lasted five days, and the Chūnin Exams officially began.

After dragging out breakfast, Chen Tian arrived at the venue for the first exam.

The first exam was a written test, so it was held entirely indoors.

Bang! After pushing open the door and entering the examination room, Chen Tian found more than five hundred people looking at him.

After glancing around, he discovered that more than three hundred of them were actually from Konoha.

Apart from the three from the Sand Village and the nine from the Stone Village, the rest were all from obscure small ninja villages.

Chen Tian lost interest after merely taking a look.

He could not be bothered to waste words with them. He swaggered in, sat down, and waited for the exam to begin.
