When Chentian and Kakashi arrived at the mission site, they found only an ordinary soldier. Sandayū and Kazahana Koyuki were nowhere to be seen.
"Are you two Konoha ninja?" The soldier ran over when he saw Chentian and Kakashi.
Kakashi nodded and asked, "We're Konoha ninja. Where is the client this time?"
Though he asked that, both of them already knew something had happened.

"Please save them! Please!" As he spoke, the soldier dropped to his knees with a thud.
Seeing Kakashi's questioning look, Chentian clicked his tongue in annoyance.
He remembered that Kakashi had not charged into the kingdom to save anyone in the original story. Why had Kazahana Koyuki been discovered as soon as he arrived?
But there was nothing to be done. He could only nod and agree.
"We'll go save them now. Tell us the direction."
"The royal palace is over there, only five li away!" The soldier sprang to his feet and pointed toward the kingdom.
After telling the soldier to hide himself, Chentian and Kakashi headed toward the capital of the Land of Snow.
"You'll handle this one. Unless it becomes critical, I won't make a move," Chentian said to Kakashi as they traveled.
