"What an oddball!"
After the communication ended, Dr. Ilene Chen from the East spoke indignantly.
Mark lowered his head gloomily, then raised it again and turned to ask the white-haired Dr. Stanton.
"Can you trace the signal?"
After working the instruments for a while, Dr. Stanton came up with an answer that left everyone somewhat disappointed.
"The signal is too weak. It couldn't have originated locally. She transmitted it through a satellite. They must be hiding in some old bunker."

Inside an old bunker, an elderly man with a resolute expression, a bald pate, and graying hair on both sides watched the arguing mother and daughter, Dr. Emma and Madison, with a trace of impatience in his eyes.
Bang!
The old man slammed his palm against the table, bringing the arguing mother and daughter to a stop. He barked, "We don't have time for this!"
"Do you really think this is easy? That it comes without pain?!"
Faced with the old man's sudden outburst, Dr. Emma instinctively pulled her daughter behind her.
"Don't drag her into this."
Dr. Emma was about to defend her daughter, but the old man abruptly cut her off. Ignoring Emma, he looked at Madison and said.
"Madison, what did your mother tell you?
