When Yunju opened his eyes, the ceiling was a little whiter than he remembered.
What he saw was the ceiling of a special care ward in Konoha Hospital. Fine cracks extended from the edge of the light fixture, like an upside-down tree.
He could feel his fingers again.
His fingertips pressed into the bedsheet, leaving faint wrinkles in the fabric. The sensation traveled from his fingertips back to his brain, along that newly reconnected path, and settled in his consciousness.
He moved a finger. It moved. Then his palm, his wrist, his entire arm—the contraction and extension of every muscle had returned to his control.
He sat up.
The IV tube tugged as he rose, and the needle slipped from his arm, leaving an incredibly thin streak of blood across his skin.
He did not press on it. The blood streak sealed itself in less than two seconds.
Yunju lowered his head and turned his hand over once.
The new skin was lighter than the surrounding healthy skin. It felt smoother than normal skin, and the fingerprints on his fingertips had yet to return. He pressed his thumb into his palm and could feel the depth of the pressure and the force of the rebound.
Everything was normal!
He sank his awareness into his body with Yin Release and swiftly made a circuit through his entire system.
The Yin Seal was still operating, but its color had clearly faded. More than half of its stored chakra had been consumed.
Hundred Healings' repair mechanism had completed most of its work. Only a few deep tissues were still healing slowly.
