Pokémon School in Rustboro City

"Is this the Pokémon School?"

Standing before what looked like a school building, Rosa asked Gary beside her.

After agreeing that morning to fill in for a class at his grandfather's request, Gary and Rosa had spent the afternoon asking for directions before arriving at this Pokémon School in Rustboro City.

"This should be the place." Based on the address they had asked about earlier, the Pokémon School was the building right in front of them, so Gary answered with certainty.

"Since this is the Pokémon School Grandpa mentioned, let's go in." Rosa was also filled with curiosity about the school, so she urged Gary along.

"Okay."

After nodding in agreement, Gary and Rosa walked into the school together.

Just as they stepped through the school gates, they were stopped by the security guard on duty.

"Sorry, this is school property. Unauthorized personnel are not allowed inside."

"Hello, we're here to see Miss Roxanne," Rosa said after being stopped.

"You're here to see Teacher Roxanne?" The security guard looked surprised upon hearing Rosa's words.

"Yes."

"Understood. I'll contact Teacher Roxanne first and confirm."

After receiving their confirmation, the security guard contacted Roxanne, who was still inside the school. Once he had verified Gary and Rosa's identities, he hung up the phone.

"Please wait here for a moment. Teacher Roxanne will be here shortly." After confirming Gary and Rosa's identities, the school security guard's tone became noticeably gentler.

"Thank you for the trouble." Hearing that Roxanne was on her way, Gary nodded and waited where he stood.

Gary and Rosa had only waited for a few minutes when they saw a young woman in a black dress and red pantyhose jogging toward them from inside the school.

The moment Gary saw the young woman, he recognized her. She was Roxanne, a teacher at this Pokémon School and also the Gym Leader of Rustboro Gym.

Before long, Roxanne jogged over to Gary and Rosa. Perhaps because she had hurried over, she paused to catch her breath after arriving.

"Sorry to have kept you waiting." After steadying her breathing, Roxanne apologized to the two of them.

"It's fine," Rosa said, shaking her head.

"You must be Mr. Gary and Miss Rosa, the ones Professor Oak mentioned?" After apologizing, Roxanne got to the point.

"That's right." Gary nodded, then looked at Roxanne before him. "You must be Miss Roxanne."

"Yes."

After a brief pause, Roxanne continued, "I also received the message Professor Oak sent over just now. Mr. Gary, you'll be filling in for his class. Thank you both for coming."

"You're welcome. It's my honor to fill in for a class at your school." Gary responded with equal politeness.

"Then, since there's still some time before your class, I can give you a brief introduction to our school." After checking the time, Roxanne took the initiative to offer them a tour.

"Then we'll be in your care." Rosa nodded as well.

Led by Roxanne, Gary and Rosa began walking through the Pokémon School.

As Roxanne introduced them to the school, she gave the two of them a brief overview of its scale and facilities, the courses it offered, and its students.

During the introduction, Gary and Rosa could both feel Roxanne's affection and pride for the school.

"Miss Roxanne, it seems like you really like this school." After Roxanne finished introducing the school, Rosa took the chance to ask what she had been curious about.

"Yes, I really do." When the school was mentioned, Roxanne's face blossomed with a happy smile.

"Why?" Rosa was quite curious. After all, few people liked school, and Rosa was one of them.

"Because this school is my alma mater," Roxanne explained.

"Your alma mater?"

Hearing the surprise in Rosa's voice, Roxanne nodded. "That's right. I graduated from this school."

"Is that why you became a teacher here, Miss Roxanne?" Rosa continued asking.

"Yes." Roxanne nodded, then continued explaining, "Although my current work keeps me rather busy, I still make some time to come teach at the school."

"Miss Roxanne has another job?" Rosa immediately caught the key point in Roxanne's words and asked further.

"Besides being a teacher here, Miss Roxanne is also the Gym Leader of Rustboro Gym, which we're planning to challenge next." Before Roxanne could reply, Gary answered in time.

"Miss Roxanne is the Gym Leader of Rustboro Gym?" Rosa's face showed surprise upon hearing that.

"Yes." Roxanne nodded, acknowledging her identity, then turned her gaze toward Gary and Rosa. "Are you two planning to challenge Rustboro Gym?"

"Yes. We originally planned to challenge it today, but something came up at the last minute." Gary raised an eyebrow as he spoke.

"I see!" After hearing Gary's explanation, Roxanne understood what had happened.

"However, I still have classes today, so I might not have time for a Gym Challenge." Considering that she had no time today, Roxanne told Gary and Rosa.

"That's fine. We have a class today as well."

Since Gary had agreed to come fill in for his grandfather, he also had no time for a Gym Challenge today.

"I don't have any classes tomorrow. Would that time work for you?" Now that she knew Gary and Rosa planned to challenge the Gym, Roxanne offered a time when she would be free.

"No problem."

After exchanging a glance, Gary and Rosa agreed in unison.

"Then it's almost time for class, so I'll leave the upcoming lesson to Mr. Gary and Miss Rosa."

Since they had been chatting happily with Roxanne, time had flown by. In the blink of an eye, it was time for Gary and Rosa's class, so Roxanne reminded them promptly.

"Okay, leave it to us!"

After saying that, Gary and Rosa followed Roxanne into the classroom and began filling in for today's lesson.
