"Say, Rosa, why did you come to the docks so early?"
Early that morning, Gary was dragged out of bed by an excited Rosa. After quickly washing up and finishing breakfast, he was pulled by Rosa all the way to the docks in Slateport City.
Gary looked at Rosa's delighted expression and sighed helplessly.
"One of my friends is arriving in Slateport City today!"
Perhaps because her friend was about to arrive, Rosa explained Gary's question with a beaming smile.
"Your friend?" Gary was slightly taken aback after hearing her.
"That's right." Rosa nodded and continued, "My best friend, Hilda, is arriving in Slateport City today!"
"Hilda?"
Gary heard another familiar name from Rosa and looked at her in surprise.
Of course, Rosa noticed his astonished gaze and tilted her head. "Didn't I tell you before?"
"Of course not." Gary spread his hands in response.
"No way?"
Seeing the certainty on Gary's face, Rosa realized that she had simply forgotten. She wore an embarrassed expression.
Under Gary's direct stare, Rosa had no choice but to tell him everything about her friend Hilda and why Hilda was coming to the Hoenn Region.
"Hilda and I are both Trainers from the Unova Region. I'm from Aspertia City, while Hilda is from Nuvema Town in Unova.
"The first time Hilda and I met was when we went to Professor Juniper to receive our Pokémon. We got to know each other through Professor Juniper's introduction.
"Later, also at Professor Juniper's suggestion, we traveled through the Unova Region together and challenged Gyms.
"Throughout our journey, Hilda was always looking after me. As time passed, we became best friends who could talk about anything."
"So that's how it was!"
