Gary defeated Roark's Cranidos and faced Roark's Mega-capable Steelix with Red Gyarados. Both Pokémon Mega Evolved, and their battle continued as Steelix charged through Gyarados's Hydro Pump.

  • Gary ordered Alolan Vulpix to finish Cranidos with Dazzling Gleam, and the referee declared Vulpix the winner.
  • Roark sent out his Elite Rank Steelix, and Gary chose Red Gyarados to face it.
  • Steelix's Rock Throw was blocked by Gyarados's Dragon Dance, and Gyarados's Hydro Pump was countered by Steelix's Dragon Pulse.

  • Miharu welcomed Gary, Rosa, and Hilda into her home after seeing their Kirlia and refused Gary’s offer of payment.
  • The next morning, Gary, Rosa, Hilda, Miharu, and Gardevoir tended the garden together.

Gary battled Hunter J’s Ariados and Drapion with his Arcanine, defeating both Pokémon despite Hunter J bringing in her Pokémon Hunter subordinates. As the girls confronted the subordinates, Hunter J recalled Drapion and made a small move, leaving her next action unclear.

  • Hunter J ordered Ariados to attack Gary, but Arcanine overwhelmed it with flames and defeated it with Flame Charge.
  • Hunter J recognized Arcanine’s Elite Four-level strength and summoned her subordinates and Drapion to capture it.
