The other side's constant approach had to be driven by some unspeakable secret. Dodai had no interest in whatever Sunagakure was searching for. He only hoped that, during the war, Sunagakure would not make any moves against Kumogakure.

Dodai's intelligence told him that the other party was an important figure in the village. Though he did not understand the inside details, everything he did was quietly drawing closer to the truth. If he dispatched Cloud Shinobi and they clashed with the Sand Shinobi, it would be exactly what Uchiha Yū wanted to see.

This strategy successfully prevented a major war that never should have happened.

Unfortunately, Dodai did not know that someone had been plotting against Kumogakure from the shadows all along.

Uchiha Yū was still waiting quietly in the mountains. Several days of waiting had worn away much of his patience and wasted a great deal of time. He could not help wondering whether something had gone wrong with the plan.

"That shouldn't be. With Sasori's abilities, he should have drawn the Sand Shinobi into the Land of Lightning by now. Why hasn't there been any movement at all?"

With no other choice, he could only abandon the mountain arrangement for now and investigate where the problem had arisen.

The instant he stood up, Pakura, who had been lying there the whole time, finally came back to her senses. Uchiha Yū had not restricted her basic movements, only kept her in one place. Pakura's patience had long since been exhausted, and she could not help complaining, "I really don't know what you're waiting here for."

"There's no need to wait anymore. Something went wrong with my plan, so I'll have to trouble you a little."

Hearing Uchiha Yū say he would "trouble" her, Pakura felt a trace of unease.
