Uchiha Yū had just returned to the village and had not even had time to rest when he heard the bad news.
He immediately headed to the hall. Looking at the disheveled Deidara, whose face was full of anger, he heard him shout furiously:
"What kind of monster did we dig up? How are they so different from the White Zetsu we know? Weren't they supposed to be asleep? They actually took the initiative to attack shinobi."
The appearance of a group of White Zetsu had caught Iwagakure's shinobi off guard, costing them a number of men and leaving Deidara extremely displeased.
"Your excavation must have damaged the roots. You definitely used explosions to dig, didn't you?"
It was not difficult for Uchiha Yū to guess that Deidara's personality would lead him to do something like this. He was also to blame for not warning Deidara beforehand.
Most White Zetsu were like ordinary people. They did not possess much combat strength themselves and merely served as vessels for the Chakra Fruit's effects. However, there was another group of White Zetsu with larger bodies, created as weapons to protect Ōtsutsuki Kaguya.
The situation was already obvious. Deidara's explosions had damaged the Chakra Tree. These remaining roots had consciousness of their own as well. Just as immune cells automatically attacked when the body was invaded by a virus, Deidara's recklessness had awakened these slumbering White Zetsu.
"I only blew it up a little..."
With Uchiha Yū mercilessly exposing what he had done, Deidara recalled the explosion that had shot into the sky. His voice lacked confidence as he hesitantly continued:
"I didn't expect it to cause this much trouble. If I'd known this would happen, I definitely wouldn't have used C4 Explosive..."
"Apparently, you blew yourself up with your own explosives."
