Orochimaru felt this was a broad and promising path. As long as they followed it, they could solve many problems.
"The idea behind artificial humans does have merit. However, even though they have been created, they are ultimately just soulless shells. We still need to shape their personalities anew. After all, every artificial human carries the risk of developing rebellious thoughts."
Uchiha Yū voiced his concerns. For him, he could use vast resources to produce large numbers of artificial humans in preparation for the coming war. Yet he also harbored a concern: artificial humans could not be allowed to possess minds of their own. What he needed was a weapon, not a dangerous object that could rebel at any moment.
After all, Uchiha Yū had studied these artificial humans. Ōnoki had created a batch using clay, and while they had initially been obedient, unavoidable negative developments had emerged under outside influence.
With that precedent in mind, Uchiha Yū did not dare expand production without restraint before resolving the issue of thought.
His words pulled Orochimaru back from his fantasies. The excitement in his heart felt as though it had been doused with a basin of cold water, and he spoke with slight reluctance.
"The problem you mentioned is indeed fatal. I may be able to cultivate powerful bodies, but I have no way to cultivate loyal personalities in them. After all, from the moment artificial humans are completed, the only difference between them and us is their identities. Their thoughts are not all that different."
How could they resist temptation and carry out orders wholeheartedly? Orochimaru fell into a vicious cycle. Looking at the green button on the experiment table, he reached out and gently pressed it down. The liquid in the incubation chamber swiftly drained away.
"Clack, clack, clack!"
