"A lesson learned the hard way makes one wiser."
After leaving the command post, Uchiha Yū had a great deal of work to handle, including the medical documents that had piled up during this time.
His disappearance had not caused any ripples in the hospital. It had been suppressed by the higher-ups, and someone else had taken on his appearance, making others believe he was still at the hospital.
"The hospital situation is worse than I imagined. There aren't nearly enough beds, and we're short on many medical supplies."
After a war, it was not merely a contest between shinobi. There were also the logistical problems afterward. Leading a group of shinobi, Uchiha Yū first provided emergency treatment to the severely wounded jonin.
Their survival had to be guaranteed first.
"Sir, we're almost out of chakra."
A medical shinobi's face was pale and his legs weak. After such intense work, his body was under an enormous burden.
"Clean the patients' wounds first, then stitch them up with needle and thread. That will save chakra."
Suturing wounds was one of the skills medical shinobi had to learn. It reduced chakra consumption, but compared to chakra treatment, it took more than twice as long.
"We're out of needles and thread too..."
A timid voice from behind interrupted Uchiha Yū's train of thought.
His raised hand froze, and he did not know how to lower it.
"Go find Nara Luyuan! Have him send shinobi back to the village to transport supplies!"
They had run out of everything!
Nara Luyuan also handed the letter to the Hokage and explained his own suspicions.
Supplies were immediately sent to the front lines, while a group of shinobi was dispatched to bring back the wounded as quickly as possible.
Uchiha Yū returned to Konoha alongside the troops.
