Terrifying Chakra

Anko froze for an instant, feeling the entire world turn blood-red. She knew she had fallen under a genjutsu and immediately disrupted her chakra, yet the world before her did not change in the slightest.

The ANBU ninja beside her watched as their captain was subdued by the enemy in the blink of an eye, with one hand gripping her shoulder. Clearly, Uchiha Yū's actions posed a certain threat, leaving the nearby ninjas afraid to act rashly lest they endanger Anko's safety.

In truth, Uchiha Yū formed a one-handed seal, and a strange mark appeared on his hand. He pressed it directly against Anko Mitarashi's neck, causing her, trapped in that blood-red world, to feel a piercing, bone-deep pain. Using the pain in her body and her ability to dispel genjutsu, she broke free from Uchiha Yū's control.

"Ah!"

Black Curse Marks began rapidly spreading from Anko's neck. Uchiha Yū did not dare let his guard down and immediately twisted the Curse Mark. A sharp scream could be heard—not a sound, but a scream from the mind. A portion of Orochimaru's consciousness had been erased by Uchiha Yū, eliminating Orochimaru's greatest threat to Anko.

At its root, the Curse Mark was merely a means of absorbing natural energy. With Anko's physical constitution, as long as she did not overuse it, there would be no danger of natural energy going out of control.

"Orochimaru's Curse Mark really is troublesome. Thankfully, nothing unexpected happened."

Uchiha Yū withdrew his hand. Looking at Anko, who was still stunned with shock, he lightly tapped her forehead and explained with a smile:

"What are you still spacing out for? I've destroyed the consciousness within the Curse Mark that was affecting your body. You can now use this power without worrying about Orochimaru controlling you through it."
