Clutching lightning in his hand, Kakashi charged straight at Mahiru.
Without the Sharingan to assist him, though, Kakashi still had glaring openings.
Mahiru reacted immediately, catching Kakashi during his windup and swinging his sword to counterattack.
But while that turn and counter sent Kakashi flying, it also let Minato slip behind him.

As Mahiru lay dying, what baffled him most was how they had seen through every one of his moves.
Minato slit his throat, then breathed a sigh of relief as he watched the body fall.
"You three are pretty observant!"
Kakashi and the other two exchanged glances and smiled calmly.
If they still couldn't play their parts with the script in hand, they might as well go home and call it a night.
Kakashi took out a scroll, stepped forward, and sealed Mahiru's body inside.
"Kakashi, what are you doing?"
"Sensei, didn't Brother Xuanhui ask you about this?"
"Ask me about what?"
"Packing up the bodies of powerful Jonin and bringing back as many as possible."
"What does he want those bodies for?"
"No idea. He just said they were for research, and that he'd give them to someone when he was done."
