Ch. 781Scholar Profession Level 30
Plot points and events
- Qin An proposes mass-producing Heartmind Rings by having different master smiths forge separate components, which can then be assembled easily. Emperor Xuanwu approves and organizes the work.
- Qin An warns Zhou Lingyu, the first Selfless Realm expert to arrive in this world, not to cause trouble. She agrees, saying she wants a peaceful life and is willing to help.
- Several months pass. The Heavenly Demon threat is gone, Great Qian becomes secure, and its leaders advance to the Heaven-Human Realm. Qin An and the emperor keep the existence of a more dangerous world secret to prevent public panic.
- Qin An reaches Scholar Level 30 but gains no new talents. He studies the Heaven-Human Realm Heavenly Absolute Method, perfects it immediately, then burns a great deal of Blood Essence to fuse it with his existing method. The result, the Heavenly Absolute Heartless Method, reaches Great Completion in the Selfless Realm and strengthens his connection to heaven and earth.
- His breakthrough intensifies the mysterious force pulling him toward another world. Qin An fears that advancing further could strip away most of his emotions and leave him dangerously unstable, so he decides not to raise his cultivation for now. Instead, he will keep improving other professions and methods.
- Emperor Xuanwu’s smiths produce over a thousand Heartmind Rings. Qin An confirms their quality, and the two conclude the rings may help recruit undeveloped False Gods. The remaining obstacle is finding someone to approach and fit the rings on them; Qin An volunteers to go himself.
Character developments and interactions
- Qin An remains practical and strategic: he devises an efficient production method, manages Zhou Lingyu as a potential risk, and chooses to restrain his cultivation when its consequences become dangerous. Despite that caution, he takes responsibility for the hazardous mission involving the False Gods.
- Emperor Xuanwu trusts Qin An’s judgment, acts quickly on his ideas, and shares his concern about the threat beyond their world. Their cooperation continues, though both recognize that making the rings was easier than using them.
- Zhou Lingyu accepts Qin An’s warning without resentment and commits to living peacefully, presenting herself as a possible ally rather than a threat.
Significant themes
- Progress carries a cost: Qin An’s power grows, but so does the force threatening to pull him away and erode his emotions.
- Pragmatism and collective effort: Dividing the ring-making process among specialists turns a difficult craft into mass production.
- Knowledge and secrecy: The leaders conceal the wider danger to preserve public calm, even as they prepare for it.
- Responsibility amid uncertainty: Qin An and the emperor must act against threats they barely understand, and Qin An ultimately accepts the personal risk of confronting the False Gods.
