Lin Yan discovered that Team Aqua was searching the basin beneath a waterfall, where he suspected the Giant Venusaur Forest was hidden. Meanwhile, Ye Lan learned that Lin Yan, Zhang Shuling, and Mu Qing had all gone missing near the same forest and prepared to rescue them.

• Lin Yan failed to contact the outside world because the area’s unusual magnetic field blocked his communicator, then hid when he heard movement outside the cave.
• Dreepy returned from scouting and showed Lin Yan that he was at the bottom of a mist-covered basin filled with abundant vegetation and Grass- and Water-type Pokémon.
• Lin Yan suspected the basin contained the Giant Venusaur Forest and that Team Aqua was searching for it too.
• Ye Lan requested five days off and worried that Lin Yan had lost contact somewhere near the Giant Venusaur Forest.
• Su Ding called Ye Lan and revealed that he could not reach Zhang Shuling or Mu Qing, who had also gone missing.
• Ye Lan told Su Ding he had a lead and would set out to rescue them, but Su Ding doubted an advanced-level trainer could handle the danger and offered to provide more help.

Ye Lan prepared to travel to Hoenn to search for Su Muqing, accompanied by Champion Su Ding’s Dragonite. Meanwhile, a Grass-type Pokémon company in Unova revealed a connection to Ye Lan, as a golden-haired girl studied a photo of him.

• Ye Lan found dried human blood near a cliff and suspected Lin Yan had jumped to escape pursuers.
• Dragonite sensed immense Pressure below the cliff, but Ye Lan had it carry him into the mist to search for Lin Yan and the others.
• Ye Lan discovered the positioning device no longer worked and landed in a huge forest filled with unusually large Berry trees and peaceful Pokémon.
• Ye Lan gave Grass-Type Special Candy 3.0 to curious Skiddo, who told him that four Pokémon resembling him had passed through.

Ye Lan encountered Bulbasaur and a flock of Whimsicott in Giant Venusaur Forest, where the forest’s master had arranged to meet him. His Whimsicott found a lonely Shiny Whimsicott and shared its food with it.

• Ye Lan realized the Gogoat herd had surrounded him, but Bulbasaur emerged and shielded him and Whimsicott from Dragonite.

Huang Yuntian set out with his main Pokémon to investigate, as the missing group remained captive in the forest and wondered who would come to rescue them.

• Ye Lan fed candy to a Shiny Whimsicott, which quickly befriended its kin, while he tried to sweet-talk a Bulbasaur.
• Huang Yuntian learned from Champion Su Ding that Ye Lan had left Huaxia Academy on Su Ding's Dragonite and that Ye Lan, Su Muqing, Zhang Shuling, and other seniors were missing.

• Dr. Tabitha’s detector exploded as Archie and Tabitha recognized the power of a Legendary Pokémon.
• Huang Yuntian left Yao Yao to notify the Hoenn League and headed toward the pillar of light with his six Pokémon to rescue his master and fellow disciples.
• Ye Lan warned everyone to recall their Pokémon, but the Dynamax energy transformed the forest’s Pokémon and drove many of them into a frenzy.
• Ye Lan used Absolute Monarch of Grass to restore Serperior and Whimsicott, while Lin Yan sent out Charizard and Blastoise to help hold back the rampaging Pokémon.
