Seven Spirit Root Veins, Methods Are Not Bestowed Lightly

"Yin and Yang, the Five Elements, seven spirit root veins."

Fang Shu stared intently at the booklet in his hands, silently reciting the words.

A trace of surprise flickered in his eyes.

According to the booklet, the spirit roots of this world were not simply divided into the five kinds of metal, wood, water, fire, and earth, as the rumors in Guling Town claimed. Rather, they encompassed Yin, Yang, and the Five Elements—a total of seven kinds.

These spirit roots were respectively called Horse King, Medicine King, Dragon King, Stove King, King Yama, Taisui Lord, and Heaven-Earth Lord, corresponding to the seven veins of metal, wood, water, fire, earth, Yin, and Yang.

Yet according to the booklet, this correspondence was not entirely precise.

For example, the King Yama vein and the Taisui Lord vein endlessly disputed which was more adept at cultivating Yin-aligned Daoist arts and earth-aligned Daoist arts. Even now, no conclusion had been reached.

Moreover, beyond the universally recognized seven-vein spirit roots, there were many variant spirit roots in the world. Their enhancement and aid to Daoist arts were not necessarily inferior to the seven-vein spirit roots.

For instance, those born with the Thunder Duke's lightning spirit root possessed far greater enhancements to the power of lightning-and-fire spells than the Stove King vein. Yet it was often too singular in nature, excessively fierce and harsh.

Fang Shu quietly digested the information, still finding it strange. Using the names of deities to refer to spirit roots is rather interesting.

Soon, as he turned to the later pages, he understood why immortals used "deities" to classify the various kinds of spirit roots.
