After an unknown length of time, he suddenly felt hunger and thirst well up from his belly. Only then did his mind stir, drawing his awareness back into his body.

He had only recently broken through, and the divine light in his eyes could not yet be withdrawn in time, flashing outward like lightning.
This was both a sign that he had yet to fully grasp his own mana and another indication that he had broken through to become a Qi-Refining Spirit Immortal.
