"My Daoist name is Jin Yan. Today, the spell I shall teach you is a cloud-riding technique I developed through my own studies. With this technique, even Qi Refinement cultivators may soar into the sky and roam the azure heavens."
A short immortal in an apricot-yellow Daoist robe sat cross-legged atop a stone platform, gesturing to heaven and earth as he spoke. His words left everyone present surging with excitement.
"This immortal elder is actually going to teach a cloud-riding technique. Spells like this are rare—at the Scripture Hall, it would take at least ten Dao Merits to exchange for one."
"If we learn this technique, we won't need to walk on foot whenever we come and go from the Scripture Hall."
Fang Shu, Lu Renjia, and the others also looked on expectantly, though someone among them murmured softly:
"This sort of aerial escape technique is said to become harder to cultivate the more formidable it is. Even if we buy it, can we really learn it?"
They were not the only ones to mention the difficulty of cultivation. Some of the other Qi Refinement immortals nearby also snapped out of their excitement and muttered:
"Is this immortal elder teaching it to us for free? If not, we might as well buy spells for refining flying swords or flying leaves instead. Tangible things are far easier than intangible ones."
Immortal Jin Yan seemed to have heard their discussions. Smiling, he said, "Aside from its many marvelous uses, this cloud-riding technique of mine is also exceedingly easy to cultivate. As long as you can draw the cloud you ride into your lungs and viscera, you may take it out whenever you wish. One sneeze, and you can fly."
