Er Family Immortal Talent, Lover at Night, Taking the Blame

A remote place.

Fang Shu and Er Daiyuan sat facing each other.

Er Daiyuan cupped her hands solemnly. "It is indeed sponsorship."

After a pause, she explained, "To be frank, although I, Er, have no spirit root, I am a member of the Er Family and can barely be considered part of the direct line. This time, I came up the mountain to serve under my clan's ancestor.

"In recent years, our clan has often selected those in the mountain with clean backgrounds and decent talent to sponsor, in hopes of forging good ties."

The moment Fang Shu heard this, his thoughts began to stir.

People from such great clans did indeed occasionally select immortal talents from among outer disciples to sponsor, hoping someone might advance to become an inner disciple, or marry into their family.

However, those who received sponsorship either possessed innate spirit roots, or faced exceedingly harsh conditions. It was called sponsorship, but in truth it was no different from contract labor at the Treasure Hall.

Fang Shu did not beat around the bush and asked directly, "May I ask what your noble clan can sponsor Fang with, and what the conditions are?"

Er Daiyuan smiled. As though she knew what Fang Shu was wary of, she arranged her words before saying:

"Fellow Daoist Fang, rest assured. Our clan's sponsorship comes with no great restrictions. We will not interfere with your cultivation methods, nor require you to serve on duty. This is absolutely not recruitment for labor or a live-in son-in-law.

"If there must be a fixed clause, it is only that after Fellow Daoist successfully establishes his foundation one day, you may leave behind a bloodline descendant within the Er Family. That is all.

"As for the more specific sponsorship terms, our clan has roughly divided
