The imps giggled and laughed, utterly without fear.
Some imps even held forks in their hands.
They dove straight down from the sky, stabbing at the devils on the ground.
But visibility was terrible at the moment. Layer upon layer of thick fog filled the air—some created by the devils' spell-like abilities, some by the demons' spell-like abilities.
There were also flames falling from the battle, and black smoke released by the searing lava.
The sky was almost completely obscured.
Some imps pierced through the dense fog, their forks directly skewering unlucky Legion Devils or impaling Lemures before carrying them back into the air.
"Caw caw caw!"
The imps burst through the black fog with bizarre laughter.
Splat!
The black fog blocked their vision. They could see nothing, and by the time they could, they had already crashed.
Quite a few imps smashed headfirst into the ground and died on impact.
Yet even so, these imps kept charging with tireless delight.
It had already been half a month since the battle erupted.
The outer walls of Millstone Fortress had long since become riddled with holes.
The walls had been breached in many places, but the battle had only just begun.
The devils discovered that attacking the interior of Millstone Fortress was far more difficult than assaulting its outer perimeter.
Each fortress was a tough bone to gnaw, and they were connected to one another by walls.
To capture a fortress, they first had to breach the interconnected walls.
Otherwise, while they attacked one fortress, the others could send a constant stream of reinforcements.
And to destroy those walls and cut off the demons' support, they had to endure the outer firepower of at least two fortresses.
Only by suffering enormous casualties could they destroy the connecting walls.
Some fortresses had
