Charles didn't think any further.
If someone really did obtain a Mind-Focusing Potion and break through to become a wizard,
it would be a one-sided massacre for everyone around them.
Even without a first-circle spell, they would still have the upper hand. The qualitative difference in their mental and magical power was simply too great.
Who would ever complain about having too many Mind-Focusing Potions when just ten Trial Vouchers could be exchanged for one?
Even if they couldn't use it themselves, they could sell it.
But when he thought about selling it, Charles realized something: why had nobody mentioned anywhere to buy a Mind-Focusing Potion?
Even if they were scarce and expensive, someone should have heard of them.
Unless these things weren't for sale...
Regardless, getting more vouchers would surely bring other benefits.
Charles took a deep breath and looked at the golden ring of light surrounding his own dot on the Trial Voucher.
If someone managed to become a first-circle wizard in the Trial Plane, who would they look for first?
They certainly wouldn't go looking for every white dot one by one. They would start with someone like him, whose dot glowed gold.
After all, a single apprentice like that could have more than ten Trial Vouchers on them, making the search much more efficient.
Having figured this out, Charles didn't hesitate any longer and headed straight for the Challenge Tower.
The Challenge Tower looked completely different from afar than it did up close.
The tower's entrance stood open, revealing a long passageway.
Charles slowly entered the passage. After walking a dozen or so steps, he came to a stone door.
"Apprentice, do you wish to begin the challenge?"
A mechanical voice suddenly came from the stone door ahead.
"Since I'm already here!"
"Begin the challenge!"
