He opened the Book of Orenis.
A first-circle spell was cast directly.
Dozens of light arrows formed at Charles's side.
"Rat-a-tat-tat!"
The Blood Ring Knight accelerated into a charge toward Charles, the thunder of warhorse hooves rising loudly.
The Blood Ring Knight lowered his body, tucked his lance beneath his right arm, and raised a kite shield in his left hand.
Riding the gale, he came thundering forward.
Before the knight even reached him, Charles, facing the Blood Ring Knight head-on, could already feel the berserk killing intent radiating from the knight's projection.
But he was not worried.
With a thought, the light arrows on both sides shot straight at the Blood Ring Knight.
"Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh!"
Like light, yet like arrows.
In almost an instant, every one of those light arrows struck the charging Blood Ring Knight's body.
"Crack!"
"Crack!"
Armor shattered one piece after another as the light arrows pierced the Blood Ring Knight and the warhorse beneath him.
"Neigh—"
Accompanied by the warhorse's final mournful cry, the heavily armored steed collapsed helplessly to the ground.
The momentum from its charge still sent the horse's corpse surging forward.
"Clang!"
The Blood Ring Knight's lance and shield both fell to the ground.
The Blood Ring Knight himself also tumbled weakly from the horse.
Together with the warhorse's corpse, his body continued hurtling forward.
Then the two corpses slowly slid across the ground, finally dispersing completely at Charles's feet into clumps of useless magical power.
The Blood Ring Knight was dead!
Charles put away the Book of Orenis. Though he could use the book even within his sea of spiritual power,
that was a little too frightening. Charles still needed to put up some disguise.
The seventh floor's guardian was instead the one Charles needed to worry about the least.
