Charles's repeated casting created a tiny iceberg-shaped block of ice on the sea.
This gave Charles and Bruce a temporary place to stand on the water.
But ice melted, especially such a small block of it.
The surrounding temperature was not particularly high, roughly that of a temperate marine environment.
At this temperature, the ice block could probably last for several days.
For the moment, their footing problem was solved. With this block of ice, they could drift across the ocean.
Though the ice would melt, as long as they had mana, they could keep casting spells to refreeze and enlarge it.
Charles even had Bruce go beneath the surface and trim the irregular ice below the waterline, shaping it into a streamlined form that could move more easily through the sea.
Although this miniature iceberg could move, it was hardly a place to stay for long. He needed to find land in this plane.
Thus, Charles and Bruce began wandering over the sea.
Their first night in this plane.
On the iceberg, Charles took out the Book of Orenis.
After Charles became a first-ring wizard and infused it with mana, this Book of Aurora Whispers had slowly gained another three pages.
The original three pages of the Book of Orenis recorded: Star-Tear Divination, Dawnlight Arrow Rain, and Lightpath Blink.
The three new pages likewise contained three first-ring spells of the Astral Elves: Star-Tear Healing, Starlight Shield, and Voidlight Cloak.
This time, Charles had taken out the Book of Orenis because he needed divination.
He activated Star-Tear Divination.
The dim, invisible stars in the sky silently gathered threads of light, eventually condensing before Charles into a faintly glowing teardrop.
Charles caught the Star Tear and crushed it in his hand.
This time, Charles divined the direction of the nearest land.
