The army arrived at Blackstone Bastion Settlement.
The appearance of the army made the soldiers stationed here extremely nervous.
When they saw Tyler ride out from the army on horseback, many soldiers and officers were astonished.
Some officers asked in confusion, "Lord Tyler, why is he with this army?"
Tyler looked at his own Blackstone Bastion Settlement, and at the many soldiers and officers.
He sighed faintly, understanding that once he made this decision, there would truly be no turning back.
He turned to look at Charles. Sure enough, Charles was looking at him as well.
Thinking of everything they had experienced along the way, Tyler knew that Charles's army was absolutely not as simple as the rumors claimed,
and Charles's strength was far greater than he had imagined.
Tyler sighed. Knowing that neither he nor Blackstone Bastion Settlement could possibly be Charles's match, he finally resigned himself completely.
He shouted up at the city wall, "I am Tyler. Open the gates!"
This order caught many soldiers atop the walls completely off guard.
Many of the soldiers still watched the army outside the city warily.
Some soldiers on the wall even wondered, "Has Lord Tyler been taken hostage?!"
Before long, Tyler's former deputy arrived atop the wall. He frowned at Tyler. In the end, rather than opening the gates, he pondered for a moment and sent an officer down.
The officer descended from the wall in a hanging basket and came before Tyler to ask what had happened.
After Tyler explained the decision he had made, he said to the officer, "If you still consider me your leader, then open the gates."
The officer swiftly conveyed Tyler's words to the deputy.
