The Wizard World truly was a world filled with naked desires for conquest.
Charles said, "Teacher, so what you need now is a fourth-tier core?"
Anderson nodded. "That's right. I need to hunt a fourth-tier being in this minor plane."
Charles asked curiously, "Teacher, can you advance with just one fourth-tier being?"
"I mean... doesn't the academy have any other requirements?"
Anderson gave a slight nod, his expression grave. "Of course that isn't the only requirement."
"Needing a fourth-tier core is merely the Wizard Throne's mandatory requirement. But we need the academy to submit an application to the Wizard Throne. How could the academy possibly let us off so easily?"
At this, Anderson smiled bitterly as well.
He said, "If I want to advance to become a fourth-ring Sage, I'll have to cede a great deal of benefits."
"Before any third-ring wizard can submit an application to advance to fourth-ring Sage, all the Wizard Sages in Isata must vote."
"If more than half agree, the application will be submitted for you."
"If fewer than half agree, the application will be rejected."
"So, if I want to become a fourth-ring Sage, I'll need to give every Wizard Sage in the Wizard Tower a sum of Magic Stones for greasing the wheels."
"Or benefits other than Magic Stones."
"For example, I'm a Great Wizard of Sage Webster's faction. When I advance, Sage Webster will speak for me, so the cost will be a little lower."
Listening to this made Charles' head ache.
Sage Webster charging less meant he still had to be given benefits.
The other factions had no such ties, so they would have to spend more.
Charles asked carefully, "Teacher, how much does it cost to get one Sage to agree to the advancement?"
Anderson let out a long sigh.
