Charles had never stopped modifying the Ratmen.
The Ratmen under his command reproduced far too quickly; there was no need to worry about too many deaths.
After all, Bruce had already sent many Ratmen onto the battlefield.
And the casualty figures were enormous, but the Ratmen did not care in the slightest.
It could not be helped. They bred too well.
Ratmen raised on the Imp Meal Plan could mature in just a few months, then produce new offspring after another month or two.
Seven or eight at a time.
Their reproduction speed was astonishingly fast. Deaths could not keep up with births.
Ordinary Ratmen were not much in a fight, but some militarily trained rats possessed the combat strength of Imps.
And after some Ratmen underwent Charles's modifications, they recovered quickly.
Some Ratmen had already successfully become Lesser Demons.
Ratman Slave-Catching Corps.
This was one of Charles's forces.
The task of this slave-catching corps was not to capture Lesser or mid-ranking demons.
It specialized in capturing Imps.
The soldiers of the Ratman Slave-Catching Corps were all Ratman cavalry. Riding some degenerated giant rats in units of one hundred, they freely captured Imps around Charles's territory.
"Squeak, squeak, squeak!"
"Woo, woo, woo!"
The Ratmen let out all manner of strange howls.
Ahead of them were more than a dozen fleeing Mezzoloths.
This was a small Mezzoloth family.
Once, Charles had also considered this type of demon to be a breed worth cultivating.
They operated in family units, and they carried out orders quite reliably.
But Charles eventually gave up on them, because these Mezzoloths had nearly been developed to their limit.
Usually, becoming a Lesser Demon or mid-ranking demon was already their utmost limit.
And their loyalty to Charles was not particularly high.
Raising Ratmen was still more cost-effective.
